Mt. Vernon Manor’s NAC team can assist low-income families with enrollment in public benefits, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Property Tax/Rent Rebate, Medicaid, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and Social Security Disability (SSDI) programs. We can also help residents obtain proof of public benefits they are already receiving. Please call our office at 215-475-9492 for up-to-date information about/make an appointment for assistance with public benefits enrollment. We can accommodate walk-in appointments, but it is best to give us a call.
Please note that, as of October 2022, Pennsylvania has increased the income limit to qualify for SNAP (food stamps). You and your family may now qualify for SNAP benefits under these new guidelines. Feel free to give us a call to inquire.
As a registered food distribution site with the Share Food Program, we distribute basic groceries (mostly shelf-stable items) on a first-come-first-serve basis every Wednesday at 631 N 39th St from 10-11:30am.
